Blocks API
Blocks™ has come a long way, but now is the time to take it to the next step and open up our platform with a complete API, allowing you to access and use your data in completely new ways.
The way you can access the Blocks API will actually be split into two parts:
1) Make calls to Blocks to view, update and create new accounts, pages, assets, campaigns etc.
2) Register with Blocks for the events you want to listen to using the power of Web Hooks. When something happens you care about, Blocks will fire a notice with the relevant data.
This push and pull approach gives a huge amount of scope for the ways in which you can interact with the Blocks platform. Here at BlocksGlobal, we have already set up a slice to automatically send update notifications to Twitter.
Mobile sites [phone browsing]
Blocks will auto detect if you are browsing from a smart phone such as Blackberry® or iPhone® and deliver a 'lite site' which is version of your site within Blocks™ with content and design tailored to Mobile Browsing.
Secure Sites
This feature is currently in testing prior to a beta release.
Secure Sites will allow users to create password protected sites such as Intranets, Extranets and areas of content for special members. Setting it up is a breeze, and best of all you can manage who has access to what sites through the same, newly revamped Blcoks™ Contacts screen, providing you one easy place to manage your members & contacts.
Members will be able to update their details (which will of course update in your Contacts list), log in and out of different areas, and recover forgotten passwords.
Twitter and Social Media
We are currently completing a wide range of research around how to integrate social media and Twitter into Blocks™, to deliver a marketing platform that stands out as a one-stop Web 2.0 tool.
You can expect features that will:
Page Commenting and Widgets
Continuing the theme of engagement, we are keen to enable you greater leverage of Blocks™ powered websites by enabling more in-page interaction.
Being able to allow inline page comments, so your users can maintain a dialogue is a big part of this. As is more in-site engagement through drop-in widgets.
